The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests proposals for
Activities that Advance Methane Recovery and Use as a Clean Energy
Source. This RFP supports the investigation, survey, study, training
and demonstration projects that advance near-term, cost-effective
methane recovery and use as a clean energy source, and support the
goals of the Methane to Markets Partnership. Projects will be funded
that help developing economies and economies in transition benefit
from methane capture and use. Partner countries currently include:
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Kazakhstan,
Republic of Korea, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines,
Poland, Russia, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam. $7 million expected
to be available, up to 40 awards anticipated. Responses due 3/5/09.
